About Cara!
Cara is a Junior Dance Management Major at Oklahoma City University. She is from Nashville, TN and began dancing at just 3 years old. She is trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, musical theatre, and contemporary. She has also taken 4 fours of voice training.

As an arts manager, Cara has taken courses such as Touring, Dance Studio Management, Management of Nonprofit Arts Organizations, Development and Fundraising, Stage Management & Production and many others.

Cara had the privilege of being cast in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment Star Dance Company in the Fall of 2022. Her roles consisted of portraying the mother of Jesus in a dance depicting Mary's story and then dancing with the baby in "Away in a Manger". She even got to dance with Santa! She also got to work closely with her choreographer under the role of Line Captain.
The following spring, Spring 2023, Cara was chosen to be the Assistant to the Artistic Director, Tiffany van Der Merwe, for the the show MOVE! Dance for the World of Entertainment.

Musical Theatre
Growing up in the dance world, she was eventually introduced to and fell in love with musical theatre. In the Spring of 2022, Cara had the opportunity to play Carla in Lin Manuel Miranda's In the Heights. The show was directed by Luis Salgado, a member of the original Broadway cast. Other musical theatre credits include, Velma Kelly in Chicago, Eponine in Les Mis, and Rose Alvarez in Bye, Bye Birdie.

Alpha Chi Omega


Outside of the performing arts world, Cara is also involved in Greek Life on the OCU campus. She is a member of the Gamma Tau chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. She is so blessed to be a part of an organization that works in building Real. Strong. Women. These organization has grown her so much in her leadership, her genuine connections with her sisters, and her own personal development. It has also led her to meet and form true relationships with people different from herself both in the chapter and in the campus community.
She is most excited to jump into her role as the chapter's Homecoming Chair in Fall 2023.
